Short interests decline

• NYSE Euronext Inc. said late Monday short interest in securities on the exchange fell to 15.17 billion shares as of April 30. At the end of the previous period, April 15, the exchange had short interest in 15.64 billion shares.
• Nasdaq OMX Group Inc. said late Monday that short interest in shares declined in the two weeks leading up to April 30. Nasdaq reported short interest in 6.46 billion shares in 2,999 securities, down from 6.71 billion shares in 2,997 securities at the end of the previous reporting period.
