- Index measuring business conditions in Australia was up 7 points in April. Posting a score of –10 vs. –17 in March and –22 in February.
- Business confidence improved by a point from –13 to –14.
- Export sales jumped 26 points to –4
- Forward orders climbed 7 points to –11
- Employment index also gained, up 11 points to –18
- Sales index added 7 points to –3
- Profitability index as up 2 points to –10
Based on the decline in the latest Australian unemployment rate we can start to see that economic conditions are showing a sharp improvement compared to a couple of days months ago. This could also be contributed to China’s pick up in government stimulus driving commodity driven economies such as Australia to gain traction again. On top of that, the Australian stimulus package are also showing signs of encouragement.
